$2 million available!

The Regional Grant Scheme and the Community Chest Fund for 2017 are both now open to community groups and Local Government across the Kimberley. 

Communities will benefit from a 50% increase to the funding pools this year. Just over $2 million is expected to be allocated to the Kimberley for economic and social infrastructure projects across the Kimberley Region.

The grants opened on 1 August 2016 and close on 3 October 2016:

Community Chest Fund - the maximum grant size for the Community Chest Fund is $50,000. Funding will be available after 1 July 2017 for successful applicants.
Regional Grant Scheme - the maximum grant size for the Regional Grants Scheme is $300,000. Funding will be available after 1 July 2017 for successful applicants.

The 2016-17 round of RGS and CCF benefitted 34 projects across the Kimberley, a full list of successful applicants and their projects can be found on the Commission's website.  The average RGS grant awarded was just over $111,000 and just under $26,000 for the CCF.

The Kununurra Bushman's Rodeo Association in Kununurra for the Outdoor Multi Purpose Facility project.
The Graham (Polly) Farmer Foundation in Derby for the Follow the Dream: Partnerships for Success project.
The Shire of Halls Creek in Halls Creek for the Halls Creek Aquatic and Recreation Centre Solar project.
The Shire of Derby West Kimberley in Fitzroy Crossing for the Fitzroy Play Space project.
The Bidyadanga Aboriginal Community La Grange Incorporated in Bidyadanga for the Bidyadanga Gubinge Commercialisation project.
Wyndham Community Events in Wyndham for the Wyndham Stars on the Bastion 2016 event.
