$6000 fares sky-high rip-off for Broome residents

Broome residents say they can no longer afford to fly to Perth, with one-way flights this Sunday priced at nearly $6000.
While locals are outraged, airlines say they are doing their best to cater for peak holiday season.

The Broome Chamber of Commerce posted a video online earlier this week, quoting one-way flights to Perth on Sunday priced between $5861 and $6003 for business class.

"There's simply no option, there's no availability ... what's there left for us to do?" Chamber spokesperson Jael Napper said.
