Aarnja launches 2016 Kimberley Aboriginal Youth Leadership Program
Up to 30 young Kimberley Aboriginal people will be given the chance to develop their leadership skills through the 2016 Kimberley Aboriginal Youth Leadership Program.

Founded by Janine Dureau and Eunice Yu, the program is designed to build a sustainable talent pool of Aboriginal Young Leaders in the Kimberley region who have the potential to build shared values, attitudes and ways of behaving.  A high performing graduate from Broome will have the oportunity to become a member of the Kimberley Aboriginal Yong Leaders Committee allowing him/her to sit in the driving seat on issues directly affecting youth, and building sustainable Kimberley Aboriginal leadership model that acknowledges the potential and capability of young people.

A key objectie of the progrem is to promote Indigenuos youth participation in decision-making, youth civic engagement and community responsibility.  The vision is to allow young Aboriginal leaders mentor and inspire current and future generations to embrace responsibilty with pride, and to respect themselves, others and the community as a whole.

While applications won't open until April 1, Aarnja are looking for sponsors to help deliver the program and achieve key objectives.
