Al Fresco Dining Trial postponed

The Deputy CEO of the Shire of Broome has offered notice that the proposed Alfresco Dining Trial  on Dampier Terrace 1-19 August.

"Further to notification/invitation to all businesses within Chinatown a meeting was held on 12 July 2016 with an intent to finalise the details of the proposed Trial.  At this meeting, a number of concerns were raised by some attendees and support for the proposal was unclear.  To this end we convened a CEO Working Group meeting the next day to determine a way forward.  The Chamber attended this meeting and were kind enough to undertake formal consultation and have since documented feedback which has confirmed some of the issues," He said.

"We reconvened the CEO Working Group [Monday] and reviewed the collated information.  It was decided by the Group, that given the time constraints it was best to postpone the event.

"Unfortunate, but on a plus we have gathered some valuable information we can all utilise moving forward for future trials/events."

The Chamber would like to thank everyone who worked hard to bring this concept to Council which has been a great achievement in engaging the Chinatown community about the possibilities through the Revitalisation project.
