Are you an emerging leader in regional tourism? Are you aged 30 or under? Applications are invited to become the WA finalist in the 2016 Australian Regional Tourism Network (ARTN) MyTravelResearch.com Young Regional Tourism Professional Award.

Tourism WA is sponsoring accommodation and travel for the State finalist to attend the 2016 Australian Regional Tourism Convention in Roma, Queensland in October.

The successful applicant will also receive full registration at the convention, 12 months' membership to MyTravelResearch.com and participation in a mentoring program.

State finalists are also in the running for the national Young Regional Tourism Professional title and an additional prize pack of other professional development opportunities.

"The future of tourism in Australia belongs to our young professionals and it is via this program that ARTN is able to partner with the state tourism organisations to acknowledge and contribute to their development," the ARTN states.

"The objectives of the award are to recognise excellence, achievements and innovations in regional tourism; incentivise young regional tourism practitioners to strive for best practice; and encourage young regional tourism practitioners to remain in the industry."

Past finalists include professionals from local government, regional tourism organisations, state tourism organisations, private operators, students and researchers.

Nominees must work in or contribute significantly to regional tourism development and be aged 30 years or under at the time of the Roma convention (October 25-27).

Visit the ARTN website for a nomination pack. Applications close on August 31.
