ARTIST SPARK - HAPPENING SATURDAY 8 OCTOBER FROM 5PMBroome artists and artisans to ignite Chinatown with guerrilla gallery

On Saturday 8 October local Broome artists and artisans will wear their art on their sleeve and ignite Chinatown with a guerrilla gallery in the vacant retail space rear of Paspaley Plaza.

Artist Spark is an open invitation to all local artists, artisans and musicians to use this as a free opportunity to showcase their talent and activate an otherwise dead-space in Chinatown.  Everyone and anyone who considers themselves a creative talent is invited to make the most of this opportunity.

A community-led initiative, it's hoped that the revitalisation of Chinatown will bring the local artists and artisans from home studios into public retail outlets and re-ignite the unique cultural elements of the town centre.  There's no knowing the future of Artist Spark and it's hoped that through seeding this idea it will take a life of its own.

Paspaley Pearling Co have generously donated the use of their 600m2 vacant retail space off Short Street.

The doors to the space will be unlocked from 10am Friday 7 October for artists to set up with public invited to the opening from Saturday 8 October 5pm.  In celebration of the initiative will be food and music.
All Chinatown retailers and restaurants are encouraged to also set up a pop up trade and be part of Artist Spark.
