Barton Deakin briefing on federal parliament summonsWritten on the 22 March 2016 This week the Prime Minister, the Hon Malcolm Turnbull MP, announced that the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Hon Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retr'd), has summonsed the Federal Parliament to sit for an additional session beginning Monday, 18 April. The Prime Minister also announced that the 2016/17 Budget would be released on Tuesday, 3 May, one week earlier than was expected.
