BCCI Media Release in support of new Broome timezone

**BCCI MEDIA RELEASE**

The Broome Chamber of Commerce & Industry has recently been consulted about a change of timezone in Broome in contrast to the end of daylight savings in the Eastern states which enforces restrictions on the pace in which the community operates.

The Chamber wishes to make it known to all Members that it has been recently contacted by Apple who has sought further information to enable their devices to calibrate to Broometime when visitors enter the Shire boundaries.

Chief Executive Officer Jael Napper said that the company has shown a willingness to work with the Chamber, and the Broometime concept was so appealing that it had also received an enquiry from Google about setting up a satellite office in Broome for their new product development team.

"The definition of Broometime is described as being free from tension and entering a relaxed state of mind and body, offering a work-life balance which encourages greater focus and quality of output from employees."

Ms Napper said the Broome Chamber of Commerce and Industry is bracing for an influx of other companies to shift to Broome should Google make the move to Broome which is expected to set a new global trend in employee satisfaction where ping pong tables in an office are now a thing of the past.
