Broome among nation's most expensive for diesel

PERTH motorists are paying more for diesel at the pump than drivers in any other capital city.
And this week six of the 10 most expensive towns for diesel in Australia were in WA. The Kimberley town of Derby topped the list, followed by Meekatharra, Norseman, and Broome.
Alan Cadd, of fuel research firm MotorMouth, said a lack of retailers in regional WA meant competition was not as fierce.
"I don't think you've got enough petrol stations in those areas," he said.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said it was aware diesel prices in Perth and regional WA had been higher than in most other States in recent weeks.
