Broome business leaders banish 'the west season' for more friendly summer alternative

A top tourist resort in Broome has convinced business leaders to dump the words "wet season" from their promotional material and replace them with the more appealing "summer season".

The Cable Beach Club Resort and the Broome Chamber of Commerce and Industry have wiped the terminology that has forever been synonymous with Broome because they believed it was not tourist friendly.

Now they are on a mission to convince the town to do the same to improve what could be perceived as a rainy and bleak image during the off-season.
