Broome Growth Plan to be delivered October 1

Consultants to Broome's Regional Centres Development Plan gathered in town last week to meet with members of the steering group to ensure early engagement and success of the plan due to be delivered October 1 this year.

The Growth Plan will address the economic, social and infrastructure needs of the town and wider region to transform Broome into a vibrant regional city while preserving Broome's natural environment, considered one of the major assets for the lifestyle of Broome for both residents and tourists alike. It also seeks to encapsulate the dynamic nature of Broome's population forming the basis for the development of an Induction into Broome process which will assist people to understand the nuances of Broome and recognise their options as far as the rich lifestyle of the town and district is concerned.

Developed by the Shire of Broome, KDC and Landcorp in consultation with economic development consultants Creating Communities and Praxis, the group hosted a Sundowner at the Shire where the Chairpoerson of the Steering Group, Stuart Hicks of the Regional Development Council, stressed the focus on collabration with community as a key driver in thep plan's development.

The Broome Chamber encourages any member of the community to come and discuss the Broome Growth Plan with all input submitted to the plan developers for consideration.
