Broome high school principal Saeed Amin chosen to join Harvard eliteWritten on the 20 April 2016 Broome Senior High School's principal Saeed Amin will go to Boston for an intensive course at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in June.Mr Amin was one of 20 school principals chosen from the 130 who applied for the Independent Public Schools Fellowship Program. The fellowship was awarded to principals from Western Australian metropolitan and country schools including Swan View Senior High School in Perth, Rangeway Primary School in Geraldton and Lakelands Primary School, 65 kilometres south of Perth."These principals were chosen because they have made an outstanding contribution to public education," Education Minister Peter Collier said. Mr Amin said it would be a great honour to learn from the world's best educators at a prestigious American university boasting alumni such as Barack Obama and Ban Ki-moon.Of the 20 principals 10 secondary and 10 primary who have been selected, Mr Amin is the only secondary principal from outside Perth. The fellowship program includes a week-long course at Harvard with principals from around the world and three months of online learning followed by a year of executive mentoring.
