Broome Makers Gallery to incubate micro businesses into retail space

The Broome Chamber is pleased to present the Broome Makers Gallery, a co-operative of local artisans to open in Johnny Chi Lane on Thursday 11 May.

Broome Makers was formed following the success of Artist Spark in 2016 where local artisans expressed an interest in entering retail outlets in town.  The space will feature locally made products including art, sculptures, furniture, fashion, textiles and much more.  It's intended to incubate micro retail business and contribute to Broome's tourism and commercial offerings.  While supporting the growth and development of business enterprise and 'made in Broome' products, it's hoped that the Gallery will continue as a permanent installment to build capacity of local producers and encourage permanent residency of commercial leasing spaces.

CEO Broome Chamber Jael Napper said, "There are so many economic outputs that this Gallery could achieve and we're thrilled to be able to work with this cohort of local artisans in delivering the Broome Makers Gallery.

"We hope that the local community will support the enterprise and take the time to come and visit us in Johnny Chi Lane."

The Broome Chamber is seeking further prospective retailers to cluster into other retail outlets.  Interested parties should make contact with Jael to offer their expression of interest.
