Recently married, Jeremy is now a contracting carpenter. He joined Broome Builders in 2012 as a labourer, before commencing his carpentry apprentice which he completed in January this year.Mr Bob Sweet, Director of Broome Builders said Jeremy is extremely deserving of this award. "Jeremy's eagerness and hardworking mentality was evident from day one and throughout his training he has always displayed resourcefulness and confidence on the work site. He has matured into an excellent tradesperson, extremely worthy of this recognition," Mr Sweet said."I'm incredibly proud of him and have no doubt he will go on to have a long and successful career," Mr Sweet concluded. Master Builders Regional Manager for the Kimberley-Pilbara region, Mrs Di Gilleland said recognising WA's regional apprentices is important."The awards recognise and support the skill level, dedication and leadership of the new generation of workers coming through the construction industry in regional WA," Mrs Gilleland said. "In a highly competitive market, to be recognised as the top regional apprentice is outstanding, and shows Jeremy's enormous potential for a successful career in the building and construction industry," Mrs Gilleland said."Jeremy has been fortunate to learn his trade from one of the best. Bob won the World Skills Olympics (carpentry & joinery) in Lyon, France in 1995 aged just 20 so it's a tremendous opportunity for a young apprentice to learn from a master," Mrs Gilleland said.
