Broome TV & Audio: City Service Country Style

Written on the 13 July 2016 by Melva Stone

Broome TV & Audio: City Service Country Style Experience and skills are clearly at the core of the success of Broome TV & Audio, but it is their "can do" attitude, which is perhaps the most important contributing factor.

"We like to offer a standard of service equal to any you would find in a big city," says co-owner Glen Brough.

"We love living in Broome and the laid-back lifestyle, which it offers.  We also see that running a business here has advantages, like savings in travel time.  To travel to a small job isn't an issue here, so we don't have to charge the call-out fees as such which are a part of this type of business in the city. There is also far greater opportunity for word-of-mouth advertising so we try extra hard to ensure it's all good!"

In the two and a half years since Broome TV & Audio has commenced business in Broome, the company has focused on providing excellent knowledge & customer service in a bid to stay ahead of the competition.

Specializing in Foxtel, satellite and antenna installations and maintenance in both commercial and domestic situations, the company services approximately ninety percent of the resorts in Broome. Both the Broome and Derby Turf Clubs also rely on the company for their seasonal racing events for all of their audio & visual distribution.

The business, like many others in Broome, can be affected by the seasons. During the high season, about seventy percent of the business is from travellers, wanting portable satellite kits, to make life on the road more like home! In the wet season, antenna problems are a part and parcel of life in Broome and solutions are a big part of the business at that time.  Many also choose to upgrade their Audio/Visual systems during the wet, when they have time to enjoy it.

Following the demise of the Dick Smith franchise in Broome, Brome TV and Audio increased their business to fill the void with a retail electronic arm offering AV solutions, cabling and specialized electronics and "one of a kind" cables and fittings.   The company also offers services to Derby, Halls Creek and outlying communities and stations - all a part of what ensures the success and growth of the business.

Glen Brough & his partner Jayde Turner run this business, and bring to it a lot of enthusiasm and experience.  Glen's Mum Carla is in Broome for the dry season (maybe longer as the Broome bug is catching) to help staff & manage the Retail sector of the business.  Both Glen and Jayde worked for many years at management level in many businesses and both hold Diplomas in Business Management.
