BUSINESS BOWLS NIGHT RAISES $1,820 FOR BUSHFIRE RELIEF The Broome Chamber of Commerce and Industry is proud to announce that $1,820 was raised at last night's Barefoot Bowls fundraiser to be donated to the Lord Mayor's relief fund for bushfire victims.

The evening was a brilliant show of solidarity by the community with teams represented by Broome Police, Shire of Broome, St John's Ambulance, Roebuck Bay Medical Services, Kimberley Training Institute, Kimberley Individual and Family Support Association, and Goolarri among local businesses big and small.  All came dressed up to a 'B' theme with bunnies, beetles, bogans and even buffet breakfasts.

President Rhondda Chappell alongside sponsor John Lazarov from Bankwest served up a tasty BBQ dinner for everyone involved to say thank you for their efforts.

Businesses showed immense generosity with supplying raffle prizes including a Life & Soul fitness membership, outdoor canvas sign from Printing Ideas, enormous meat tray from Tenderspot and a first aid kit from St John's Ambulance.

An 18ct white gold Australian South Sea pearl pendant donated by Willie Creek Pearls was auctioned for $710.

The event was also a great showcase of the sport with the Broome Bowling Club soon re-opening for Friday night barefoot bowls.

BCCI would like to thank everyone who took part in the event including volunteers Liz Locke and Melva Stone, and looks forward to hosting another Bowls night very soon.  Interested teams are urged to register early with last night's event fully booked more than a week prior.
