BVC seeking volunteers for new tourism networkWritten on the 9 February 2018 The Broome Visitor Centre is establishing a new initiative to increase it's capacity in facilitating the tourist industry. The Broome Tourism Volunteer Network will draw on the strengths of committed local residents who are able to offer some time toward servicing tourists through advice, directions and offering a welcoming smile. The network of volunteers would assist with welcoming large tour groups at the airport as well as pop up visitor centres at major events and cruise ships. Managing the program is Melva Stone who says, "Our aim is to make the Broome Tourism Volunteer Network a great socially inter-active group, which will provide benefits in return for your time. It is a well-known fact that remaining "connected" with other people is vital for our general health and well-being. "It seems that volunteering in the tourism sector is particularly attractive - the Perth Airport Yellow Coat Volunteers have not had a vacancy for almost twelve years, as people who join up enjoy the role so much!" The BVC will host a session in March and are calling out for interested parties to attend. For further information please contact coordinator@cruisebroome.com. |
