Careers Expo a great successWritten on the 10 May 2016 More than 800 students from around the region gathered in Broome last Friday for the 2016 Careers Expo at Broome Senior High School. The students from BSHS, St Mary's and other local and remote schools attended to enjoy a diverse range of exhbits focused in careers opportunities. A new partnership between the Broome Chamber and the Broome Senior High School will see the Chamber host a careers visits page on its website ongoingingly, as a tool for teachers looking for real life careers experiences and information for their students. The Department of Education is pushing careers to be a much greater curriculum focus for teachers of students of all ages, and the Chamber appreciates that the more of our local children who enter careers paths which can keep them in the North West, the more stable and sustainable our economy will become. The organising stakeholder group wishes to thank all those who supported and contributed to Careers Week and Careers Day 2016 in Broome, and looks forward to building on the event in 2017. |
