CCI CEO announced first Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman

Small Business Minister Kelly O'Dwyer announced the appointment of Kate Carnell as the first Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman. Ms Carnell's main functions as the Ombudsman will be to:

  1. act as a Commonwealth advocate for small and medium businesses;
  2. be a concierge for dispute resolution services so businesses can resolve disputes without getting caught up in lengthy and expensive court cases; and,
  3. contribute to the development of small business Commonwealth laws and regulations.

Ms Carnell will commence in the new role on 11 March for a five-year period.  She previously held the position of CEO of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry
