Channel 9 goes off air in regional WA after an election-eve programming stoush On the eve of the election, Western Australia's regional viewers have been cut off from watching Channel 9 programs after the network was unable to reach an agreement with the state's licence holders WIN Corporation and Prime Media Group.

"The almighty dollar has struck again and has left viewers who are fans of things like The Voice, 60 Minutes or Love Child hung out to dry," Steve Molk, who runs DeciderTV, a website aimed at helping consumers decide what to watch, told ABC Kimberley radio.

"All of this spawned out of renegotiations of the rolling five-year agreements between Nine and WIN and Prime.

"Bruce Gordon, head of WIN, did not like what Nine was wanting and threatened to broadcast black."

The Nine Entertainment Group released a statement on Friday saying WIN and Prime rejected all offers to find a reasonable negotiated agreement despite Nine concluding new program supply agreements for all other regional licence areas across the country.
