Chinatown taxi rank relocation underwayWritten on the 31 March 2016 The Shire of Broome Community Safety Working Group is continuing to make changes as it progresses towards a Community Safety Plan.Anti-social behaviour in Chinatown is one focus of the Working Group, and this week work started on relocating the taxi rank at Paspaley Plaza from the entrance on Carnarvon St to the Short St side of the complex. In addition, Shire Rangers have been cracking down on illegal camping on Male Oval, with visible improvement.
The Community Safety Working Group brings together Shire, Police, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nyamba Buru Yawuru, Broome Liquor Accord, Kullarri Patrol, Broome Youth and Families Hub, taxi services, Broome Visitor Centre and Broome Regional Hospital. Source: Shire of Broome media release |
