Chinese leader tipped for WA visit Chinese Premier Li Keqiang could be on his way to WA's north to see farms being developed by the new owners of Carlton Hill station.

The timing of any visit remains unclear but planning comes amid a spike in Chinese media interest in Shanghai Zhongfu's $160 million investments around Kununurra.

Chinese television crews and other media are coming to WA to feature the farms created by Shanghai Zhongfu-owned Kimberley Agricultural Investment on Ord River irrigation scheme.

The coverage will expose millions of Chinese to the spectacular Kimberley for the first time in a major boost for WA's agriculture and tourism sectors.

KAI is considering growing cotton and setting up cattle feed lots after paying $60 million to acquire Carlton Hill from Consolidated Pastoral Company.
