How has your business been impacted by the cost of flights?Written on the 19 July 2017 The Broome Chamber is currently preparing a submission to the State Government's Inquiry into airfare prices, and is seeking case studies from local businesses whose operations have been adversely impacted by the cost of flights to Perth. The Economics and Industry Standing Committee has invited the Broome Chamber to represent local businesses at a public hearing in Broome at 10am on Tuesday 22 August 2017 to discuss its inquiry into airfare prices on regular public transport (RPT) air routes in regional Western Australia. The purpose of the hearing is to provide an opportunity for the Committee to discuss its Inquiry with the BCCI. The invitation is extended to a small number of Members with information about the impact of high airfares on business development in the Broome region. The terms of reference of the Inquiry are for the Committee to evaluate the:
a. factors contributing to the current high cost of regional airfares; The Committee will report to the House by 28 November 2017. Interested Members are encouraged to express their interest in participating in this trial by EMAILING JAEL.
