Irrigation trial set for expansion A 55,000 hectare Aboriginal-controlled pastoral lease about 15kms from Derby has been offered freehold tenure to expand its irrigated agriculture in a move set to create jobs and economic sustainability within its community.

The Mowanjum Aboriginal Corporation can now progress the development of an irrigation precinct, feedlot and related infrastructure with the freehold option at Mowanjum Station following agreement by the State Government.
