Kimberley Small Business Support adds marketing and tourism advisors to Broome team

Kimberley Small Business Support is pleased to have an increased presence in Broome with the appointment of the Broome Chamber's Jael Napper as a small business advisor.

This follows the recent appointment of Gail Gower who joined KSBS as an advisor late 2015 alongside Kevin Smith and Richard Brunger,  Collectively the team has a broad range of experience and skills from business planning, finance, tourism and marketing.

Established mid 2015, the KSBS provides free, confidential, and practical assistance on a wide range of business related issues with a focus on business development in the region.

Minister for Small Business, the Hon Joe Francis, took advantage of the resumption of parliament yesterday to mention the aggregated results of the Business Local service between July and December 2015.

·         The Business Local service has resulted in sixty six per cent (66%) more business advisors throughout the State than were available through the Small Business Centre network.

·         In the first six months of the service these advisors have seen almost three thousand (3,000) individual businesses.

·         The service has generated more than sixteen million dollars ($16M) in extra turnover
·         160 new positions have been created as a result of the advice provided.

·         The service has generated nearly five million dollars ($5M) in additional capital invested with every region reporting an increase.
·         When all this additional turnover, job creation and capital investment is aggregated, estimates indicate that the economic impact of the service so far is in the order of twenty five million dollars ($25M).

Businesses with fewer than 20 employees are invited to contact KSBS to see how its advisors may be able to offer assistance in any issue ranging from start-up to exit.
