KPA meets with Port users to discuss slipway

Kimberley Ports Authority (KPA) met with 25 port users on 21 January to discuss the recent challenge being faced arising from the slipway not being a Prescribed Premises for the purposes of the Evironmental Protection Act 2986.

As a result of the meeting KPA is preparing a request for proposals seeking potential operator sof the slipway area which will be issued shortly.

They have also asked the Department of Environmental Regulation for an extension of the grace period to 1 May 2016.

Sean Mulhall, Commercial Manager and General Counsel KPA said, "[we're] grateful to the Broome community for giving up their time and allowing KPA to improve its understanding of their needs and concerns in relation to the slipway."

"KPA will keep port users updates ad the matter develops."

Any queries concerning the slipway should be directed to KPA's HSE Manager Mr Steve Cuce at hsemanager@kimberleyports.wa.gov.au.
