Mark McGowan's Labor closes in on victoryWritten on the 4 March 2017 ![]() With the local economy suffering a post mining boom slump, the state-wide poll of 1660 residents conducted by ReachTEL shows Mr Barnett's Liberal-Nationals alliance trailing Labor on a two-party-preferred basis by 48 to 52 per cent. The result represents a 9 percentage point swing to Labor since the last election in 2013, just shy of the 10-point swing needed to deliver Mark McGowan's Labor the 10 seats he needs to take government in its own right on March 11.At a minimum, the poll points to a hung parliament.
