Melanie Carrington selected for National Seafood Industry Leadership ProgramWritten on the 16 February 2017 Maxima Pearling Company are proud to announce that a Director of the business Mrs Melanie Carrington has been selected to participate in the National Seafood Industry Leadership Program. The program is run annually and is open to participants in the seafood industry that have demonstrated leadership capacity Australia wide. Melanie is one of only two Western Australians to be selected to participate in the program. The program runs over 6 months and includes three residential sessions around the country. The first in Darwin , then Sydney and the final session Canberra in September. The program is supported by the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation and is delivered by Rural Training Initiatives. Overall the program focus is on giving its participants the right tools and understanding to have a positive impact on their future, the future of their own business and the future of the Australian seafood industry as a whole. Melanie said " I am really looking forward to gaining a better understanding of the issues that the broader seafood industry are facing and how they are addressing them. I hope to gain some new ideas and contacts from around the country that I can then bring back and initiate in our business". |
