New Zealand discovers Matso's: the most remote craft beer pub and brewery on the planet.

What are you supposed to do when a complete tasting tray of specialty craft beers is placed before you?

This curious dilemma exercises my mind for a few parched seconds as I seek refuge in Matso's bougainvillea-lined garden bar in Broome, Western Australia, under gently swaying palm fronds.

As the tropical humidity is hovering around 90 per cent and the temperature is climbing above 35C, I knock back the first sampler in double-quick time and it feels so good.

In retrospect I think I chose the alcoholic ginger beer because it looks so cool and is an absolute cracker. Many nearby bar patrons are drinking nothing else. It turns out to be the brewery's best seller.
