Plan to revive Broome tourist precinct A development concept aimed at transforming Cable Beach and surrounding tourist haunts into a vibrant shopping and entertainment hot spot will be released for public scrutiny.

The draft plan for the area known as Precinct 11 includes hotels, restaurants, bars, accommodation and leisure tourism activities on and around Cable Beach.

Part of the strategy suggests mobile traders in dedicated zones, enhancing Cable Beach with its own entry statement, and commercial adventure activities with a food and beverage kiosk on the sand.

The vision includes relocating the Broome Surf Life Saving Club and beach vehicle access ramp as well as upgrading the grassed amphitheatre, creating a backpacker camping area and redeveloping the old Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park.
