Regional taxi company moves into on-demand transport to pre-empt industry shake-up

A taxi company in regional Western Australia has made a pre-emptive move against popular ride-sharing apps, such as Uber, by adopting the on-demand business model.

The smart phone app, BrooBa, was attempting to bridge the difference between traditional taxi booking and ride-sharing models that have disrupted the taxi industry in capital cities around the world, Broome Taxis proprietor Shayne Murray said.
