Roebuck Bay Medical Services now part of 360 Health + Community

Written on the 8 July 2016

Roebuck Bay Medical Services is now a part of the state-wide primary health organisation and social enterprise charity 360 Health + Community (360).

Joining with 360 will allow the clinic to begin plans to offer their range of services, which includes mind care, preventative health, chronic disease management and in-home support, as well as collaborating with the AMS sector to bring better services to all Broome residents.

Dr Heather  Briggs said, "360 are a well-established state-wide organisation and they have a keen interest in supporting rural communities access better health services. The services they offer are exactly what the Broome community needs and I see joining their organisation as a big step towards addressing some of the gaps in Broome health services. Our community will now have the support of an experienced state-wide service, which plans to boost our access to quality health care, and that can only be a good thing for the entire Broome community."

Paul Hersey, CEO of 360 added "We have three steps we see as vital to developing a healthy Broome community. One is to engage with all practices in the area so we're working together. Two is to deliver our services in a way that integrates with what already exists. Three is to integrate with the hospital system to ensure everyone gets the care they need and there's a seamless transition into primary care." he said.

360's introduction to Broome follows recent similar introductions in Wickham and Dampier, both of which have received new GP clinics to address a health care need for under-serviced residents.

A Sundowner to launch this great new initiative will be hosted on Friday 29th July at the Mangrove Hotel at 5.30pm.  Chamber members are welcome to attend and should contact Eve Currie on mobile 0438 061 194 or email:ecurrie@360.or.gau to make enquiries or to register attendance at the launch.
