Seeking Road Safety Partners

It doesn't matter if you're travelling only a few kilometres - most crashes happen close to home and, even at low speed, not wearing a seat belt can cause serious injury and death these could be your customers, clients or staff.

The help raise awareness about seat belt usage the Broome RoadWise Committee is starting a seat belt campaign throughout the Shire of Broome and is seeking the support of Chamber members.

Not only is non-restraint use a state-wide road safety priority, Kimberley regional road crash statistics indicate it is also a significant issue at a local level.  Seat belts were not worn in 31% of KSI crashes from 2004-2013 in the Kimberley region. The region is ranked as one of the worst KSI rate for motor vehicle occupants who were unrestrained.
