Short-stay facility agreement is welcome news

The announcement that a site has been finalised for a short-stay accommodation facility in Broome is welcome news, according to the Shire of Broome.

WA Housing Minister, Colin Holt, and Acting Regional Development Minister, Mia Davies, announced today that agreement had been reached with Yawuru Native Title Holders on a location for a $21.1 million facility to be funded through Royalties for Regions.

Broome Shire President, Ron Johnston, said the Shire of Broome believed that a short-stay accommodation facility was an important part of dealing with issues around homelessness in the town.
