Uniforms celebrate indigenous relationsWritten on the 21 June 2017 Broome police will introduce a new NAIDOC-inspired vehicle and change in uniform next week as part of a Statewide initiative developed in the Kimberley. With Broome celebrating NAIDOC Week from Friday, June 23, one week before the rest of the State, a redesigned car will make its way onto the streets of the Kimberley town and police will be wearing new shirts. Renowned indigenous artist Edwin Mulligan reflected the Kimberley land in his design of both the vehicle and shirt, with the blue of the rivers representing the presence of police.
