WA Tourism Awards 2018Written on the 4 April 2018 The Perth Airport Western Australian Tourism Awards, now in its 46th year, are designed to recognise and reward business excellence within the Western Australian tourism industry.Every year, tourism operators are encouraged to enter the Awards, providing themselves with the opportunity to be publicly recognised for their industry contribution and achievements over the past 12 months. As WA's success in the recent Qantas Australian Tourism Awards shows, businesses of all sizes and types have the opportunity to win at a State level and go on to succeed at a National level. The Awards are comprised of an online submission and site visit-based program that form part of the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards program. Gold Medallists in categories 1 - 25 will become automatic finalists in the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards and will represent WA on a national level in 2019. This year, two new categories will be introduced to recognise individual excellence within the tourism industry:
The Awards are open to all tourism-related businesses in Western Australia. With 33 categories to choose from, including festivals and events, adventure tourism, tours and transport, food, wine and accommodation, there is a category to suit every tourism business.
Important Dates Nominations close - Monday, May 28 Entrants are encouraged not to leave their nomination until the last minute - by nominating sooner, you can begin the preparation of your submission sooner and avoid rushing closer to the due date. Draft submissions due - Tuesday, July 24 Final submissions due - Tuesday, August 21 Finals Fever (announcement of finalists) - Thursday, September 20 Gala Dinner - Saturday, November 10
