WA ELECTION: WEEK FIVE

WHERE THEY CAMPAIGNED

* Colin Barnett in the Pilbara, a seat Nationals leader Brendon Grylls holds by 11.5 per cent, Labor-held Fremantle (15.4), Victoria Park (4) and the Kimberley (5.1), Liberal-held Perth (2.8) and Belmont (1)

* Mark McGowan focused on Liberal-held Perth (2.8), Bunbury (12.2) and Collie-Preston (2.9), Bicton (10), the notional Liberal West Swan (0.9) and Kimberley, which is Labor-held by 5.1 per cent

HIGHLIGHTS

* A ReachTEL poll showed Labor again ahead 52-48 two-party preferred and with a primary vote of 34.4 per cent compared to the Liberals' 32.5

* Treasurer Mike Nahan said if re-elected, the government would return the budget to surplus by 2020

* The Liberals submitted costings to Treasury but Labor instead defended its use of two former public servants

* Mr Barnett was furious after being tricked into posing for a photo with four women who had anti-Liberal messages on their arms and rebuked the media for running the photo

* Labor promised a $60 million Meth Border Force with 100 officers dedicated to cutting supply

* Twi Liberals apologised for mishaps, Lily Chen for giving out bottles of wine and Wade De Campo posing as radio listener "John from Collie" to grill Mr McGowan on-air
