Willie Creek Pearls makes Elizabeth Quay the Pearl of Perth's tourist destinations

Award-winning tour operators Willie Creek Pearls, have brought their Broome Pearl Farm experience to Perth by introducing Live Pearl Harvest tours at their brand-new Elizabeth Quay premises.

"Our new premises at Elizabeth Quay not only embodies who and what we are, but also brings a slice of Broome to Perth to show our visitors how the unique Western Australian elements contribute to the production of our beautiful Australian South Sea Cultured Pearls.

Western Australia produces the finest Pearls in the world and we think this is the perfect place to showcase them." Said Sally Hollins, Willie Creek Pearls CEO.
The company, who claimed gold in two categories at the 2016 Tourism Council WA Awards, hope to continue their highly-regarded contribution to tourism by delivering a high-quality product to Perth locals and visitors alike.

The premises are much more than your regular jewellery showroom, with a purpose-built "harvest" area overlooking the water, where visitors are immersed in the fascinating story of pearls. The staff who have all visited Broome, are trained tour guides, and are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills and passion to enthral visitors on a journey of pearl discovery, an experience which is truly unique to Western Australia.

"Not offered in any other city in Australia, the Live Pearl Harvests give visitors to Perth an experience like no other, delivered by a reliable and experienced company on the city's doorstep. We are extremely excited about this new addition to the market, situated in one of the most visited pockets in Perth." said Noeleen Pearson, Experience Perth CEO.

"It also gives insight into why pearling is such an important part of our state's rich maritime history and the role it played in Broome's foundation" she added.

The value of a pearl inside an oyster generally ranges from $500 to $5,000 but remains a mystery until its harvested. Tour guests hold their breath as an oyster is opened to uncover the pearl that lies inside. They learn how the Pinctada Maxima oyster produces the world's finest pearls and the way they are graded and selected, and even get the opportunity to taste pearl meat.

There are several tour options available including a 30-minute Pearl Discovery tour that runs twice daily at 11am and 1.30pm for the affordable price of $15.

The premise is easily accessible by road, train or ferry and 5-minute walk from the CBD.
