Yeehar! Broome's own Rythm & Ride Rodeo Sept 23-24Written on the 9 September 2016 Rhythm & Ride - rodeo, campdraft & country music showcase is set to become one of the biggest events in the national Rodeo calendar. The Broome born initiative by Cara and Adele Peek Rythm & Ride is scheduled for 23-24 September. It will showcase some of the countries best riders, people that make riding and living the rodeo lifestyle their life's work.A passion that sees countless early mornings, long days and endless roads, all in pursuit of the perfect ride. The Rhythm & Ride Rodeo will offer a range of events for senior and junior competitors. The event is a chance for visitors and locals to get together and compete or sit back and watch the action. Saltwater Country Inc. is a not for profit, grass roots organisation with majority Indigenous membership and directorship dedicated to creating positive change in Broome and the wider Kimberley community. Operating as a not for profit, all income generated goes back into the organisation and its initiatives. Executive Chairperson Cara Peek said, " Our long-term goal is to use the income to create sustainable events and establish a purpose built Rodeo school in Broome offering training and master classes in all aspects of Rodeo and horsemanship. In addition, the school will also offer equine therapy and diversionary programs for disengaged community members, giving at risk youth an alternative way of being involved in life, learning life skills on country and become reengaged in the world around them."
