The RFDS Broome base was opened in May 2016, and is the largest RFDS base in Australia.  In the first six months of operation, the service flew 307,000kms from the Broome base.  It transported 297 patients, flew 898hrs over 215 flights.  Demand for the RFDS service has increased substantially in the Kimberley region over the past five years and the new facility will ensure we can continue to meet the increasing and changing demand for aero medical services in the nort in the fastest and most eficient way.
