The number one reason families leave country towns is the state of the public high school. In 2004, Broome Senior High School had 296 students with only 45% of primary students staying. This year the school cracked 900 students with close to 90% primary retention.

Keeping families in town builds sustainability and growth, in turn building a strong Broome. It has been a remarkable success story with the school now one of the top ten public schools in WA and outside of Perth, ranked in the top three. The school views itself as a key fabric of our community.
