Phil brings good ol' fashioned bowser service to BP Broome Central

I remember the good ol' days, dad driving into the local indy servo, rolling down the window of his prized XF Falcon, shouting out 'fill 'er up cob!'.

The family sat in the car while the servo hand filled the fuel tank, gave the windscreen a quick wipe then took the $10 from dad.

That was the early 80's, when it was unheard of to have to fill your own car.  A service station really was all about service.

I could add filling up the car with fuel as my top 10 most loathed routine activities of life.  So imagine my absolute delight as I was driving past BP Broome Central to see a sign about Phil.  He fills the tank, checks the oil and tyres between 8am and 12noon Monday to Saturday.

I know where I'll be filling up from now on.

Well done BP Broome Central.  And have Sunday off Phil, you've earned it.
